Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and forgiveness on adolescent orphanage in palembang. The study hypothesis that there is a relationship between social support and forgiveness on adolescent orphanage in palembang. The population of this study is adolescent orphanage in palembang with a an age range from 13-18 years old who have unknown amount adolescent. The research sample was 100 adolescent orphanage in palembang. This study used purposive sampling technique. forgiveness and social support was measured by the scale which refers to the dimensions of forgiveness from Baumeister (1998) and the types of social support from Sarafino (2011). The results of the correlation analysis show that there is a positive relationship between social support and forgiveness (R = 0.844, p = 0,000). Thus the hypothesis on this study is accepted.
