Abstract

The aim of the research was to study Profil of rumen fluid SCFA incubated with oil palm TMR on various incubation time in sacco. Total mix ration of beef cattle based on oil palm by product were incubated in a 280 kg fistulated cow. Rumen fluid was collected in 0, 6 and 12 hours of incubation period for SCFA analysis. Rumen sampling was done in cattle fireld laboratory, Animal science Department, Agriculture Faculty, UNSRI while SCFA analysis was performed in animal research institution, Tapos, Bogor. Completely randomized design with 3 treatments (0, 6 adn 12 hours) and 9 replications were applied for acetate, propionate, butyrate and acetate-propionate ratio parameters.The result showed that propionate concentration was affected by incubation time significantly (P < 0,05) while acetate, butyrate and acetate-propionate ratio parameters were not affected.
