Abstract
Palembang comprises 16 districts, there are currently only 6 fire stations. Fires continues to increase from year to year. The lack of fire and less precise location of the fire station was one factor delay in handling a fire incident. In this study we discuss how to determine the optimal number of fire station that should be available, with a strategic location and the average minimum distance to serve 16 subdistricts in Palembang. Firehouse locations chosen are determined by using Model Covering-Based Maximal Covering Location Problem, Location Set Covering Problem, and P-Median Problem. Furthermore, a solution obtained is by using branch and bound solver at Lingo 13.0 Super Edition. Results of the calculations conclude that for the 15 minute best time, there are 10 locations of the fire station to serve the 16 subdistrict in Palembang. Covering Based Model yield the result that the fire station should be built in the District of Alang-Alang Lebar, Bukit Kecil, Ilir Timur I, Kalidoni, Kertapati, Sako, Seberang Ulu II, Sematang Borang, and Sukarami.
