Abstract

Anemia iron deficiency as anemia arising from a lack of iron supply for the formation of hemoglobin is reduced. Adolescent girls have a higher risk of anemia than adolescent boy because adolescent girls have menstruation every month which can cause iron loss in the blood. This study aims to find risk factors associated to incidence of anemia on adolescents girls in Senior High School 19 Palembang. For this study used cross sectional design. This study used primary data taken in Senior High School 19 Palembang 2019. Sample in this study was 100 respondents. The technique method used Simple Random Sampling. The univariate results of this study showed that 56% of adolescent girls in Senior High School 19 Palembang have anemia. The results of the multivariate analysis showed that variable associated with the incidence of anemia on adolescent girls in Senior High School 19 Palembang were nutritional status variable that had been controlled with variable of knowlodge, family income, iron supplementation consumption and menstrual patterns (PR Adjustuted = 9.891 (95% CI; 3.377-28.965). Variable that do not have a relationship with the incidence of anemia on adolescent girls in Senior High School 19 Palembang are variable menstrual patterns and family dependents. For the school, it is recommended for coordinate with the puskesmas in the local area to hold counseling on anemia and the routine gift of iron suplementation to adolescent girls.
