Abstract

Contemporary art center is a place that serves as a forum for the arts community to develop works well as interact socially. The number of emerging contemporary art community recently needed a place to channel their creativity, get together, be creative, mutually supporting or criticizing existing works so that arts and culture in Palembang or South Sumatera may continue to be monitored. There’s no sucah a competent place in Palembang for artists and the community to display and introduce their works and give knowledge of art to the public more broadly to society. For the planning of Contemporary Art Center, it will use the basic concepts of light. During this time the lighting design more in terms of sheer function, whereas there other aspects that can be harnessed from light, namely in terms of quality. With good quality lighting can give psychological effects that can affect human emotions and flavors. The light can be an organization to produce a attraction o the room. Space generated by the attraction against forms as a means of generating dark imagery - light in three dimensions so as to produce 'aesthetic sensation'.
