Abstract
Climbing perch is one of local fish which has economic value and potential as fish cultivation. The production can be increased by improving density and water quality management. The aim of this research is to know the best pH and density to improve growth and survival rate of climbing perch fry. This research was conducted on October-November 2016 in Aquaculture Laboratory, Program Study of Aquaculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of pH and density with three replications each treatment. pH treatment consisted of pH 6±0.3 and 7±0.3. Density treatment consisted of 200 fish.m-3, 300 fish.m-3 and 400 fish.m-3. The parameters to be observed are growth, food efficiency, survival rateand water quality. The result showed that pH and density treatment had significant effect on absolute growth while the interaction between pH and density treatment had significant effect on survival rate.Climbing perch fry that pH 7±0.3 and density 300 fish.m-3 treatmenthad highest value of absolute growth. Interaction between pH 7±0.3 with density 200 fish.m-3had highest value of survival rate 90.00%.
