Abstract
Work Area of Boombaru Seaport unloading goods and people from within and outside the country most likely to be a quarantine disease transmission vectors derived from rats. Territory perimeter should be free rats but the environment of the perimeter are building facilities warehouse pier, restaurants, and activities dense affect the sanitary quality of the environment and affect the presence of rodents in the port area. The aim of this study was to analysis of environmental sanitation and the presence of rats in the boombaru seaport work area.This research is a qualitative in-depth interviews, observations, review of documents, and the installation of a live trap succes. Informants this study amounted to 10 people. The results showed that the presence of rats in the perimeter area is moderately high with 13.5% trap success. Sanitation office building pretty well, sanitation building warehouses are still lacking, sanitation restaurant is still not good, and for waste management in the work area has not performed optimally in which the lug is less trash there is no separation and waste treatment, transportation to the landfill is not smooth, there is still waste generation in the afternoon and evening in the trash. It can be concluded that the presence of rats in the working area of the Boombaru Seaport quite high and environmental sanitation office building pretty well, shed less, eat less and house waste management is not good / not optimal. Suggestions for port managers are socializing preventive rodent control, improve waste management and waste transport agreement with the renewal of the municipal waste management departments
