Abstract

Tanjung Asmara Beach is used for the tourism activities. The estimation of wave hight is very useful to avoid the accident in the beach. The aim of this research were to analyze the significant wave height in the Tanjung Asmara Beach, West Bangka, and to analyze the accuracy of the WaveWatch III BMKG data and observation. The WaveWatch III BMKG data was processed by software GrADS, and then compared with observation data which conducted on 14th until 16th December 2018. RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) was used to analyze the accuracy of both data. The observation results showed that the significant wave height in Tanjung Asmara Beach was in range 0.21 - 0.65 meters. The wave height result from BMKG was 0.0016 - 0.704 meters. RMSE of both data was obtained at 0.08.
