Abstract
West Sumatra is one of the earthquake prone areas so that infrastructure is needed that must take into account the effects of the earthquake. one of them is by evaluating old buildings to be earthquake resistant by strengthening and planning earthquake resistant buildings using pushover analysis. The purpose of this pushover analysis is to evaluate seismic behavior of the earthquake load plan with output in the form of a capacity curve and identify the spread of plastic joints. In pushover analysis, the performance of building structures can be seen from the target displacement that occurs. To determine the target of displacement carried out by the capacity spectrum method (ATC-40). The level of performance according to ATC-40 is illustrated by a curve of the relationship between lateral displacement and the amount of force acting or called the capacity curve. In this study, the evaluation of the performance of the structure and the spread of plastic joints of the building taken was located in the city of Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, namely the Badan Kepegawaian Daerah Building. The results of this study found that the level of building performance including immediate occupancy because the maximum value of total drift <0,01. The plastic joint distribution of this building consists of the first plastic joint that appears in the direction x in step 17 and direction y in step 18. The displacement that occurs in each direction is 17,172 mm and 17,951 mm with shear forces of 915,912 tons and 1019,191 tons. Furthermore, in the direction x direction point occurs in step 19 and direction y in step 21. Displacement that occurs in each direction as far as 19,856 mm and 21.418 mm with shear force of 1059,630 tons and 1211,378 tons respectively. In the final stage of the analysis, the spread of plastic direction x direction on step 72 and direction y in step 80. Displacement that occurs in each direction as far as 82,281 mm and 99,951 mm with shear forces of 3165,434 tons and 3517,743 tons respectively.
