Abstract

The purpose of this study were to (1) Analyze the coconut farm income in Sri Tiga Village Sumber Marga Telang District Banyuasin Regency, (2) Describe the coconut distribution channels, marketing margin, marketing advantages, as well as part received by farmer (farmer’s share) (3) Know the distribution of coconut and its derivatives, which focuses on coconut processing into oil at the PT Banyuasin Nusantara Sejahtera. This research was conducted in Sri Tiga Village Sumber Marga Telang District Banyuasin Regency. The data were collected in May 2015. The method used is survey method. Sampling method farmers used in this study was simple random sampling and the sampling as an informant of marketing agencies used snowballs sampling method . The data are obtained consist of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the income of farmers in the coconut farming is Rp 77,660,620 per cultivated area per year is fairly low when abundant production is not used properly. There are three oil distribution channels, namely (1) farmers, traders, retailers, and consumers, (2) farmers, collectors 2 and wholesalers, and (3) farmers, collectors 2, and factory BNS. The biggest marketing advantage gained retailers 1 Rp 3119.02 per pieces per year, due to higher selling prices with marketing costs are low compared with other traders. And then the lowest marketing advantages gained 2 merchants Rp 618.92 per pieces per year, due to the selling price of the coconut milk is very low compared to the marketing costs incurred merchant. The distribution channel of coconut derivate products in the form of pure coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is distributed to PT Wilmar International in Singapore. The copra production process into pure coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) on PT Banyuasin Nusantara Sejahtera there are two processes, namely (1) wet copra - wet shredder - bath mixers - tank cook - press machine 1 - press machine 2 - VCO and (2) dried copra - dried shredder - cooking tank - press machine 1 - press machine 2 - VCO.
