Abstract
Stroke is a clinical syndrome of sudden onset, rapid progression, a focal or global neurological deficit that lasts 24 hours or more that can cause death because of brain bleeding disorders. Hypertension is a major risk factor for modified stroke. Control of hypertension can reduce the occurrence of stroke and reduce deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke. Giving antihypertensives given with a target of 10–20% blood pressure reduction. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of antihypertensive drugs in stroke patients at RSI Siti Khadijah Palembang in 2017 which includes precise indications, precise patients, proper medication, proper dosage, and alert side effects. The study was conducted in the inpatient wards of internal medicine. This research is done by descriptive analysis method and data collection is done prospectively. The data obtained are 23 samples including inclusion criteria. inclusion criteria is stroke patients with or without complications receiving antihypertensive drugs at RSI Siti Khadijah Palembang from August to November 2017. The results of evaluation of antihypertensive drug use were found as 100% precise indication, 95.65% precise dose, 100% precise patient, 100% precise drug, and 4.34% of patients experienced side effects. The most widely used antihypertensive drugs are CCB group, namely amlodipine and ARB groups is valsartan.
