Abstract
One of the activities in coal mining at PT Bukit Asam Tbk is overburden. Based on information obtained in the field, activities in Pit 3 East Banko Barat are still not efficient, because there is still a large cycle time of the PC 3000 digging tool and there are blasting boulders resulting in the bucket not being fully loaded. The objectives of the study were to determine the type of material, blasting drilling activities, blasting geometry, explosive use, fragmentation distribution of blasting results, and the effect of fragmentation distribution on PC 3000 productivity. Pit 3 blasting targets every month in 2018 amounted to 600,000 BCM and 249,574 BCM realization in November 2018. The blasting geometry applied at Pit 3 is 8.1 meter burden, 9.1 meter spacing, 7.4 meter hole depth, 3.7 meter fill column, 3.7 meter stemming, 26.53 loading density kg / m, and powder factor 0.18 kg / BCM (0.066 kg / ton). The results of the distribution of fragmentation using Split Desktop, obtained an average boulders (fragmentation> 100 cm) of 7.61% or it can be said that the resulting fragmentation is still quite good. The average PC 3000 cycle time is 89.96 seconds, where there is an average waiting time of 59.01 seconds. The actual productivity of PC 3000 before the improvement of work efficiency is 298.51 BCM / hour and productivity after work efficiency improvement is 338.61 BCM / hour.
