Abstract

Cultivation was an effort to increase the squid’s stock with attractor technology development for eggs settlement. The purpose of this research was to compare squid eggs attachment numbers in attractor-Sargassum sp. and to assessing the suitable of waters depth for eggs attached. Field experimental research with qualitative methods and descriptive analysis was used in this research. Fish traps were used as attractors which installed at 3 m and 5 m. Sargassum sp. observed at the same depth with the installed attractor. A total of 102 pieces (28,90%) squid egg capsules has been attached in the attractor less than Sargassum sp. were 251 pieces (71,10%). Squid egg capsules attached at 3 m in Sargassum sp. were 169 pieces with 62,36% where in the attractor were only 102 pieces with 37,63%. Squid egg capsules attached at 5 m in Sargassum sp.were 82 pieces, but none in the attractor. The 3 meters of depth is a suitable location for attractor attachment at Ketawai Island.
