Abstract

This study aims to determine role of resilience towards stress to the family caregiver of post stroke patients. The study hypothesis that there is a role of resilience towards stress to the family caregiver of post stroke patients. The population of this study was the family caregiver of post stroke patients in the city of Palembang with an unknown number. The research sample was 120 people and for the try out was 40 people. This study used purposive sampling technique. Stress and resilience was measured by the scale which refers to stress from Patel (1996) and resilience from Wagnild dan Young (1993). The research used simple regression analysis. The result obtained by the value of R= 0,377, R square= 0,142, F= 19,516 and P= 0,000 (p<0,05). It’s proved that resilience has a significant role of 14,2% towards stress. Thus the hypothesis is accepted.
