Abstract

The performance test of automatic water pump control system and provision of pump working information through SMS based on microcontroller with the aims to test the performance of automatic water pump control system and provision of pump working information through SMS based on microcontroller. The research was conducted on April until August 2017 at Laboratory of Energy and Electrification, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya. The method used in this research was experimental method with pre-experimental design. This method consisted of some stages, such as literature study, tool designing, tool constructing, tool testing, data measurement and analysis. The observed parameters were speed of service operator, power requirement, accuracy and precision. The calculation of the average speed of service operator when activating the pump was 4.48 seconds, while when deactivating the pump was 4.7 seconds. Power needed by the tool or microcontroller device was 0.1 Watt and power requirement of submersible pump when operating was 25.5 Watt. The average time of water filling until finish was 6.04 minutes and water volume was 44.45 liter, so that water discharge was 7.36 liter/minute. The objective of accuracy and precision test of ultrasonic sensor HCSR04 was to determine the percentage of the real calculation, the average ultrasonic sensor HC-SR04 accuracy was 96.59 % and the average qprecision was 97.92 %.
