Abstract
The objective of this research was to know the optimal dose of oil palm empty fruit bunches on the growth and yield of sweet corn. This research was conducted from January 2017 until May 2017 at Experimental Station of Agricultural Faculty, Sriwijaya University. The design used was Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), with 7 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments were P0 = without compost, P1 = 3,3 ton ha-1 Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches (OPEFB) compost, P2 = 6,6 ton ha-1 OPEFB compost, P3 = 10 ton ha-1 OPEFB compost,P4 = 13,3 ton ha-1 OPEFB compost, P5 = 16,6 ton ha-1 OPEFB compost, P6 = 20 ton ha-1 OPEFB compost. The results showed that application fertilizer compost of empty oil palm bunches with optimum doses 20 ton ha-1 in P6 treatment has better result than P0 until P5 in all observed variables. The results showed that oil palm empty bunches compost 20 ton ha-1 (P6) better than other treatment (P0-P5) for all of parameters
