Abstract

PT. XYZ is one of the largest companies engaged in the distribution of medical devices. PT. XYZ spreads in various big cities in Indonesia, one of them in Palembang. The high demand for one of the medical device products which are syringes often causes the lack of inventory (stock out) in the warehouse. The inventory problem occurs due to lack of inventory control planning. So in this research inventory control planning for PT. XYZ will be made, including the calculation of ordering cost. The method used is periodic review. In this method we will look for an optimal interval review (R). To help determine the demand forecasting Monte Carlo simulation were used. The result of this simulation will then become demand 30 days in the calculation of periodic review method. The final result of the calculation of periodic review method is for the most optimal checking time is for every 8 days and the amount of inventory that must be provided in the warehouse is 130,307 units. The comparison after using periodic review method, we obtain lower order fee of Rp. 1,421,875 than from before using periodic review method.This proves that periodic review methods can minimize booking costs.
