Abstract

This research was aimed to study the effects of palm oil Total Mix Ration (TMR) to Brahman Cross thermoregulation with various physiological state. It was held in PT. Andira Agro Banyuasin, july to september 2015. Forty Brahman Cross cattle were grouped with various physiological state: bull, cow, periparturient cow, male and female calves (8 heads per group). The cattles were fed palm oil Total Mix Ration (TMR) then after two hour the observation of thermoregulation parameters initiated. The result shows that the highest rectal temperature was on female calves (37,21 ºC), highest heart rate was on male calves (66,37 time/minute) and highest respiratory frequency was on periparturient cow (59,62 time/minute). Palm oil Total Mix Ration (TMR) has no significant effect on thermoregulation state of Brahman Cross cattle.
