Abstract

The purpose of this study are to : 1) Analyze income productive business of farmer's household , 2) Identify factors which affecting farmers in traditional marketing systems, 3) Analyze marketing channels, marketing margins and “farmers share” received by farmers on traditional marketing systems in Lalang Sembawa Village, Sembawa Sub-district, Banyuasin Regency. This research was conducted in Lalang Sembawa Village, Sembawa District, Banyuasin Regency. Determining the location of research is done deliberately with the consideration that Sembawa regency is a rubber plantation center and precisely Lalang Sembawa Village has UPPB South Sumatra's largest sales volume per month based on data from South Sumatra Plantation Office. Data collection in the field was conducted from May 2016 until April 2017. Data was collected in the form of primary and secondary data. The method used in this research is survey method. Sampling method is Total Sampling or census. The results of this study indicate that the pattern of productive business conducted by household rubber farmers are classified as three parts, namely productive business pattern of basic farming in the form of rubber farming, non-basic business pattern in the form of rubber seedlings and productive farming system in the form of service workers such as drivers, construction workers, freelance, and merchants. The average household income of rubber farmers in Lalang Sembawa village is Rp. 36.992.380,00 per year with details of income source from rubber farming give dominant contribution equal to Rp. 19.487.192,00 or equal to 52.68 percent, outside farming’s activities amounting to Rp. 10,383,750.00 or 28.07 percent, and non-principal farming activities gave the smallest contribution of Rp. 7,120,438.00 or 19.24 percent of total revenue. The most influencing factor is bokar processing technique which has high criteria with average score 8,25. Bokar processing technique which farmers do in Lalang Sembawa is cooking usung coagulant vinegar and this matter not a problem by big traders is bought farmers bokar. The marketing channel of traditional market pattern of rubber in Lalang Sembawa is a channel where farmers sell bokar to big traders, then big traders directly sell bokar to rubber processing factory. The margin marketing at the level of wholesalers that is Rp. 1,900.00 and the average farmer share received by farmers is 79.00 percent.
