Abstract

The soundness of a Bank is measured by the Bank's financial statements. Liquidity is one of the Bank's health measuring instruments to assess the ability of the Bank to meet its short-term obligations. Credit is one of the Bank's main activities in achieving maximum profit, through credit interest income. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Liquidity Ratio and the Amount of Credit on the Profitability of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data used in this study are secondary data for the year 2015-2018. The method used is an associative research method using multiple linear regression analysis techniques by testing classical assumptions. The population of 44 banks with sampling techniques was carried out using purposive sampling method. The results of the study can be concluded that the liquidity ratio and the amount of credit simultaneously influence the profitability of the banks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The results of the research partially are that the liquidity ratio measured using LDR has a positive significant effect on profitability and the amount of credit has a significant positive effect on bank profitability as measured using ROA. It is better for the Bank's management to manage liquidity properly by avoiding the level of liquidity that is too low but does not justify the level of liquidity that is too high, and channel loans in the right direction to maximize the Bank's profitability.
