Abstract
The objective of this research was to know the influence of the number of blade, moisture content of material and rotation speed of disc to performance of pin mill. The method on research was randomized block design using three factors and three replications. First factor was the number of blade P1 (3 pin) and P2 (4 pin). Second factor was moisture content of material A1 (8%) and A2 (10%). Third factor was rotation speed of K1 (2500 rpm), K2 (3000 rpm) and K3 (3500 rpm). Parameters are work capacity of pin mill grinder, yield milling, and the fineness modulus. The results showed that the highest machine work capacity was P1A1K3 treatment on 1.88 kg/hour, while the lowest treatment was P2A2K1 on 0,51 kg/hour. The highest yield milling was produced on treatment P1A2K3 on 91.73%, while the lowest treatment was P2A2K1 on 80.27%. The total of blades, moisture content of the material, and speed of rotation of the disk was affecting the work capacity of pin mill grinder and yield milling.
