Abstract
The purpose of this research was to test a pineapple leaf secraping machine performance and simplify the separation process fibers from the skin with the mechanical prosess. The reaserch was conduction from April 2018 to June 2019 at Farm Machinery at the Workshop on the Department of Agriculture Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and BalaiLatihanKerja (BLK), Sako, Kenten, Palembang. The parameters used in this study was the work capacity (kg/hour), the theoretical capacity (kg/hour), the work efficiency of the tools (%), the power requirements (watts), fuel consumption (L), yield (%) and distance (mm). the results of this study indicate the effectiveness of pineapple leaf shearers of 7.75 kg / hour, theoretical work capacity of 10.40 kg / hour and the work efficiency of the tool by74.51% with a distance of 0.81 (mm). The power requirements for this pineapple leaf shredder are 3189.51 or 4.28 hp. The power requirements are met because it uses a diesel engine with a capacity of 8hp, fuel consumption of 0.3 L / hour and the yield of this tool is 57.69 %.
