Abstract
Purposes of this research are (1) to analyze factors that affected the middleman soaking rubber before being sold to factory, (2) to calculate rubber middleman income level and (3) to describe stages that rubber middleman should do before being sold to factory in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir regency. This research was conducted in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir regency. Data was collected on March 2015. The sampling method was used is simple random sampling. Data which obtained consist of primary and secondary data. Based on the research result, factors that affected the middleman soaking rubber volume and resources of information. The average score numb of factors that affected the middleman soaking rubber is 30,40 with high criteria. Average score of factors that affected highest is 9,00 with high criteria. Rubber middleman income level in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir are Rp 225.564.826,70 per year. That's depended on how many rubber that bought by middleman from farmers for be soaked firstly until be sold to factory. Stages of activity which middleman should be do before selling the rubber to factory in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir regency was soaking rubber by creating a suite rectiliner if it was soaked in the river or just putted the rubber in the pool. Rubber which soaked shaped slap have size about 40 cm x 60 cm. Increased of rubber volume which soaked is amount 30% until 32% and decreased is amount 10% until 15 %. Middleman have surveid the prices at all factories in Palembang until get highest price demand from all that factories. The rubber's price was offered about Rp 7.000,00 until Rp 7.700,00. The quantity of rubber that middleman had been sold are amount 5.000 kg until 24.000 kg. Key words : rubber middleman, rubber soaking, income, factories, rubber volume.
