Abstract

Produced water is one of the wastes produced in oil and gas production. the characteristics of produced water will be different according to the source, the oil field condition, the chemical used in production and the depth of the reservoir. According to the law passed by the ministry of environment number 19 the year 2010 about the parameter of produced water for oil, gas and geothermal industry, the concentration of oil and fat that's allowed is 25mg/l, meanwhile gravimetric testing on the produced water that has been acquired from block valve station x PT. Pertamina Asset 2 field limau showed that the concentration of fats and oil is 27.2 mg/l, exceeding the allowed amount. the sample is then treated with the gravity filtration method using 10 - 0.8 mm zeolite as the filter media. gravimetric testing on the sample that has been filtered using the zeolite showed that zeolite is quite effective to adsorb oil and fat, whereas using 10 mm zeolite manage to reduce the concentration of oil and fats up to 88%, using 2.3 mm - 2.9 mm and 1.4 mm - 2.3 mm manage to reduce the concentration by 89,62% and filtration using 0.8 mm - 1.4 mm of zeolite manage to reduce the concentration by 99.2% from the initial concentration
