Abstract
SARI Kestabilan lereng di tambang terbuka batubara (open pit) dengan batuan lapisan penutup (overburden) batulumpur merupakan salah satu perhatian bagi manajemen tambang, agar kegiatan penambangan berlangsung dengan baik dan aman. Parameter kuat geser jangka panjang dari batulumpur seperti kohesi dan sudut gesek dalam skala laboratorium dapat diperoleh dengan memahami karakteristik dari perilaku creep dari contoh batulumpur. Penelitian menggunakan tegangan normal (\ensuremathσn) sebesar 3,18% \ensuremathσc dan tegangan geser (t) sebesar 80% dari tegangan geser puncak (tp). Perilaku rayapan geser didekati dengan persamaan Empiris, Rheologi General Kelvin dan Rheology Burger. Hasil perhitungan kurva persamaan Empiris, Rheologi General Kelvin dan Rheology Burger relatif mendekati kurva hasil uji rayapa geser langsung. Selanjutnya kekuatan jangka panjang kedua contoh batulumpur dari hasil perhitungan dengan persamaan Rheologi General Kelvin dan Rheology Burger masing-masing mengalami penurunan sebesar 50% dan 55% serta 50% dan 52% dari kuat geser puncak (tp). Kata kunci: CREEP mudstone, karakteristik mudstone, kekuatan jangka panjang batuan ABSTRACT Slope stability of open pit coal mines with overburden of mudstone is one of the concerns of the mine management to keep the mine operating well and safely. Long term shear strength parameters of mudstone such as cohesion and internal friction angle in laboratory scale can be obtained by comprehending the characteristics of creep behaviour of the mudstone samples. This research used normal stress (\ensuremathσn) of 3,18 from \ensuremathσc and shear stress (t) of 80% from the peak shear stress (tp). The creep behaviour of mudstone may approached by empirical model, General Kelvin Rheology and Burger Rheology. The calculation provides of empirical equation curves, suggest that General Kelvin Rheology and Burger Rheology relatively approach the curve of direct shear creep test. Futhermore, the longterm strength of the two mudstone samples from calculation of General Kelvin Rheology and Burger Rheolgy equation decrease 50% and 55% also 49,7% and 51,7% from peak shear stress (tp).
