Abstract

Sebagai salah satu perairan yang ada di Indonesia, Perairan Selatan Jawa merupakan suatu perairan yang sangat kompleks karena mendapatkan pengaruh dari Samudera Hindia secara langsung dan juga pengaruh dari massa air Samudera Pasifik yang dibawa ke perairan ini melalui Arus Lintas Indonesia (ARLINDO). Terlebih adanya fenomena IOD di Samudera Hindia dan ENSO di Samudera Pasifik. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada saat terjadinya fenomena IOD dan ENSO untuk melihat pengaruhnya terhadap massa air di Perairan Selatan Jawa. Untuk data yang digunakan adalah data hasil observasi dari Argo Float, Argo Float merupakan sebuah instrumen kelautan yang bergerak mengikuti arus laut untuk memperoleh data-data oseanografi. Di Perairan Selatan Jawa teridentifikasi massa air Bengal Bay Water (BBW), Indonesian Upper Water (IUW), South Indian Central Water (SICW), Western North Pacific Central Water (WNPCW), Indonesian Intermediate Water (IIW) dan Antartic Intermediate Water (AAIW).
