Abstract

The success in seaweed cultivation in addition to depending on the season and appropriate land suitability include the method used. The floating basket method is a method of planting with seaweed seedlings put in baskets that have been designed to suit the state of the water. This study aims to determine the daily growth (DGR) and absolute growth (AGR) of Eucheuma cottoni seaweed, as well as analyzing the quality of water on the growth of Eucheuma cottoni. This research was conducted by using the floating basket method with an initial weight of 100 grams. This research was conducted for 28 days, the data collected in this study were daily growth (DGR), absolute growth (AGR) and water quality parameters. The results showed daily growth (DGR) ranged from 1.56 to 2.00% per day, absolute growth (AGR) ranged from 40-141 grams and water parameters at the study site were still fairly good for Eucheuma cottoni growth.
