Abstract
The research objective was to determine the effect of different legume and planting distance on forage production in elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) and legume planting system. the randomized completed block design was used in this research, consist of three species legume and three different planting distance. the results showed that legume species influenced dry matter production of forage. Legume of Pueraria phaseoloides had the highest forage production followed by Calopogonium muconoides and Stylosnthes guyanensis
