Abstract
ABSTRACT The study aims to determine the effect soil depth and moisture content on plant growth of carrots. The study was conducted in the district Pacet Cianjur Regency. The design used was randomized block design with five trearments and three replications. The first treatmant is the length of pipe 60 cm (P1), second shelf treatment is pipe 70 cm (P2), the length of pipa is 80 cm (P3), length of pipe 90 cm (P4) and fifth treatment (P5) is an investment in land. The results showed that the experimental soil depth influence on the length and diameter of the carrot root. The experimental results show that the carrots are planted at a depth of 90 cm pipe toproduce the longest carrot tuber that is 27,13 cm and the lowest pipe to a depth of 60 cm pipe producing carrots over 20.75 cm. The experimental results by using the pipeline depth of soil significantly influenced the soil water content. The number and size of soil pore water is crucial for plant growth.
