Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension in pregnancy constitutes 5-15% of pregnancy complications in all cases of women with hypertension in pregnancy and one of the most common causes of death and contributes to the morbidity and mortality of pregnant women. One of the hypertension disorders in pregnancy is preeclamsia which is early onset preeclamsia is the most severe clinical variant of disease occurring 5-20% of all cases of preeclampsia and late onset preeclamsia is about 75-80% of all cases of preeclamsia. This study is needed to know an overview of the risk factors of early and late onset preeclamsia in primigravida. Method: This study was a descriptive observational study. Using secondary data with a total of 98 patients were included in the study chosen by total sampling. The population of this study was all pregnant woman with preeclamsia who are hospitalized in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang during January-December 2018. Result: The result of this study shows that the most common incidence of early and late onset preeclamsia occur at the age of 20-29 years old (52,6%) and (69,6%), based on education level occur in the senior high school education with the incidence of early onset preeclamsia (68,4%) and late onset preeclamsia (65,8%), based on BMI the incidence of early onset preeclamsia occur in the group that has no risk (52,6%) and late onset preeclamsia occur in the group that has risk (74,7%), twin pregnancies only in late onset preeclampsia (5,1%), and also occur in the group with no history family of preeclamsia with percentage of early onset (94,7%) and late onset (94,9%). Conclusion: The incidence of early onset preeclamsia lower than late onset preeclamsia and the incidence occur at the age of 20-29 years old and senior high school level. The incidence of early onset preeclampsia and late onset preeclamsia based on BMI occur in groups with BMI <25kg/m2 and BMI ≥25 kg/m2, twin pregnancies in late onset preeclamsia and no history family of preeclamsia.
