Abstract

ABSTRACT VICTIMS OF MURDER CAUSED BY SHARP OBJECTS TRAUMA INSPECTED IN THE FORENSIC DEPARTMENT OF BHAYANGKARA PALEMBANG HOSPITA BASED ON VISUM ET REPERTUM 2016-2018 (Dibyo Wiranto, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University, 41 pages) Introduction. Violence is a problem that can cause death and disability, which cases are still relatively high. Violence often triggered by disputes that lead to crimes with weapons, including sharp weapons which trauma has high morbidity. This study tried to see the pattern of injuries caused by sharp objects that were examined in the forensic department of Bhayangkara Hospital, Palembang. Methods. This study is an observational descriptive study with a case report. This research was conducted in the Forensic Department of Bhayangkara Hospital in Palembang, with the time of the study being between August 2019 - October 2019. The study sample was visum et repertum of sharp trauma victims recorded in the forensic department of Bhayangkara Hospital in the period of January 1st 2016 - December 31st 2018 that met the inclusion criteria. Results. From the results of the study, 34 samples of sharp trauma victims were recorded. It was found that, the most age ranges of victims are between 26-45 years, as many as 19 people (55.9%). The number of man being the victims are more than women (25 people/73.5%), and the proportion worked more (20 people/58.8%). The most forms of injury are linear (15 people/44.1%) and ellipses (16 people/47.1%), most types of injuries are stab wounds (26 people/76.5%), most locations are on the back (10 people/29.4%) and chest (9 people/26.5%), and the number of injuries which more than one (26 people/76.5%). Conclusion. The highest age group of victims is in the adult age range between 26-45 years. The sexes that are the most victims of sharp trauma are men. More victims with occupation being the victims of sharp trauma compared to those who did not work. The most common form of wounds is linear followed by an ellipse. Most types of injuries in the sharp trauma victims are of stab wounds. The most frequent location of sharp trauma is the back followed by the chest. The greatest number of injuries is more than one.
