Abstract
This research is a descriptive that aims to describe reasoning aspects of mathematical thinking of the eighth grade students' through inquiry learning on the slope lesson. The focus of this research is reasoning aspects of mathematical thinking, namely deductive reasoning and logical analysis. The subjects of this study are students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. Based on the test result and interview, mathematical thinking aspects of deductive reasoning arise more than logical analysis. Students can use general mathematical statements to carry out algorithms in calculations and draw conclusions. Students are able to find the facts of a problem, but only a few students who solve problems by making assumptions first. In doing calculations, there are still students who are constrained in arithmetic operations and do not master the prerequisite material, namely the Cartesian coordinate system. As a result, students cannot draw correct conclusions.
