Abstract

Background: Endometriosis is a benign gynecological disorder characterized by the presence of endometrial glands and stroma in locations other than the endometrium. One of the symptoms associated with endometriosis is dysmenorrhea. Ca125 examination is performed on endometriosis patients because it is considered to be able to predict the endometriosis stage and determine the location of endometriosis before laparoscopy. Allegedly Ca125 levels and the degree of menstrual pain can indicate the stage of endometriosis. This study aims to determine the relationship between the endometriosis stage and the Ca125 levels and the degree of menstrual pain in endometriosis patients at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Method: This research was an observational analytic study with cross-sectional design. Sampling was done using the purposive sampling technique with a total of 80 samples taken from the medical records of endometriosis patients in RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang within the period of 1 January 2018-1 January 2019. Results: Endometriosis patients was found in the age group of 36-45 years (47.5%), Body Mass Index 17-23 kg / m2 (51.2%), regular menstrual cycle (91.3%), high Ca125 levels (63.7%), moderate and mild pain (41.3%) and stage IV (46.3%). In the bivariate analysis, there was a significant correlation between endometriosis stage and Ca125 level with p= 0,000 (p <α), but there was no significant relationship between endometriosis stage and the degree of menstrual pain with p= 0.350 (p> α). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the endometriosis stage and Ca125 level, but there is no significant relationship between the endometriosis stage and the degree of menstrual pain.
