Abstract
The reasearch was focus on the potencial analysis of water availability in upland agriculture on the bases of agroclimatic data. Field Experimental Research Station of Sriwijaya University lndralaya was taken as an example for the analysis and the climatic data was used from Kenten station Palembang. The total volume of water during one year compared with the water requirement for crop evapotraspiration ware indicated that water surplus during Oktober-March and deficit at June-September. By comparison the actual and maximum evapotraspiration the drought index was calculated. The result showed that the high risk to applied agriculture cultivation in August to September, due to high drought index points. Means that those period was not suitable for start cultivation without applied the irrigation technology.
