Abstract
Stevia has some advantages for use in several industries. However, its development is still limited. This research aims to study several characteristics of soil physical characteristics (texture) and soil chemistry (pH, N, P, K, CEC, C-Organic, Na, Ca, Mg) in stevia plants in Cibodas Village, Pasir Jambu District, Bandung Regency and Nglurah Village, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency. This research took place from November 2018 to February 2019. Soil analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of PT. Binasawit Makmur Palembang. Determination of location and sampling of soil is randomly. The results showed the physical properties of the dominant soil texture of clay sand, while the chemical properties at dominant pH were slightly sour, dominant Nitrogen was low, dominant Phosphorus was very high, dominant Potassium was very high, dominant C-organic was moderately, CEC was dominantly medium, Sodium was dominantly low, Calcium was dominantly medium while Magnesium is dominantly high in each soil sample in Cibodas Village, Pasir Jambu District, Bandung Regency and Nglurah Village, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency. From the research it can be suggested that the application of fertilizers should be reduced and replaced with organic fertilizer so that the plants do not rot easily and the provision of chemical pesticides is replaced with vegetable pesticides to be more environmentally friendly and reduce residues also on land classified as acid so that it can be given lime to neutralize the pH.
