Abstract

Palembang is one of the largest cities in Indonesia as many as 1,602,071 people with 26% of the children's category. Role playing can be a means of playing and learning so that children can imagine and imitate roles that can develop social skills, speaking skills and increase imaginative development. With a relatively high population of children and just few facilities for children's play in Palembang, a playground as an educational-based recreation facility is needed. Profession Themed Children's Games aim to provide educational-based recreational facilities for children in learning to know and understand various professions. Located in the OPI Mall Complex which is one of the centers of the tourism area in Palembang by carrying out the concept of playful architecture based on the characteristics of children who are full of joy and happy to play. The composition of the building is made using a circle which is divided into three sections according to the activities in it. The outdoor play zone is in the middle of the building to give the impression of open space. Radial circulation aims to make children's control distance easier. The building facade uses gradations of bright colors that reflect the cheerfulness of children. Then, the interior of the playground is made to resemble the atmosphere of a city and its facilities are smaller in size so that it is not too broad from the children's point of view.
