Abstract
A digital work, especially digital images, for some people such as photographers, designers, etc. need to require proof of ownership so that his work is not claimed by just anyone. One way to prove ownership of a digital work is to give a watermark or digital watermark to a work. In watermarking there are several methods that can be used to give a watermark to a digital image. In this study a was made comparing the Singular value decomposition method and Discrete wavelet transform. The results obtained in the SVD method insertion process obtained the highest average PSNR value of 40.4407, while the DWT method obtained the highest average PSNR value of 46,3658. In the extraction process using the SVD method, the highest average PSNR value of 22.6167, while the DWT method obtained the highest average PSNR value of 21.3460. The durability of the extraction process results with JPEG compression with quality parameters 12,10, and 8 for the SVD method, the noise produced in the watermark image is very bad because the watermark or watermark image is almost invisible, whereas for the DWT method the noise generated on the watermark is only annoying, because it can still be seen the shape of the watermark image
