Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the performance of silicon solar panel with reflector on some angles of tilt. The research consisted of three phases: preparation polycrystalline silicon solar panels circuit assembly along with reflector; circuit testing; accumulation and tabulation of data. The research used two polycrystalline silicon solar panels, one of them used two reflector with five variation of tilt angle they are 70, 75 , 80, and 85. The reflector which was used in this research is aluminum foil. The observation parameters were sunlight intensity, solar panel power, fill factor and solar panel efficiency. The results showed that polycrystalline silicon solar panel which was using two reflector produced better performance (higher power and higher efficiency) at 11.00 WIB to 14.00 WIB than polycrystalline silicon solar panel without reflector. All of the observation unit accepted same total of sunlight intensity. The highest efficiency produced by two polycrystalline silicon solar panels was on the second day of the first week at 70 on the fourth day with the efficiency of solar panels without reflectors of 18.06% and solar panels using two reflectors of 21.66% with sunlight intensity of 457.67 W/m2.
