Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of sugarcane varieties and upper roller mass on the performance of sugarcane press machine. This research was conducted from July to November 2019 on street Inspektur Marzuki lrg. Al Hikmah Number. 2072 RT 04 RW 08 Kecamatan Ilir Barat 1 Palembang. This Research uses Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) method in which there are two treatment factor, top roller mass variation A1 : 4,6 kg, A2 : 5,6 kg, A3 : 6,4 kg and sugarcane varieties B1 :sugarcane PS 851, B2 : sugarcane bululawang. The parameters of this research consisted of machine work capacity, sugar content yield from sugarcane juice and machine fuel consumption.The result showed that the treatment A1B2 with top rol mass 4,6 kg and sugarcane varieties bululawang had a higher machine work capacitythan any other treatment. Where as for the highest average of sugar content yield from sugarcane juice obtained from A2B2 treatment with 52,29 %. A1B2 treatment with top roll mass 4.6 kg and sugarcane varieties bululawang had the lowest average fuel consumption of 0.76 liter/hour.
