Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate growth and yield of kangkong cultivated in floating culture system. This research was conducted from March to April 2019 at Pelabuhan Dalam Village, Pemulutan, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatera. This research was arranged on factorial randomized block design with 2 factors. The first factor was substrate composition, consisted of three composition i.e 3000 cm3 soil (M0), mixture of 1000 cm3 soil and 2000 cm3 reamun (1:2) (M1), and mixture of 2000 cm3 soil and 1000 cm3 reamun in (2:1) (M2). The second factor was transplanting time, consisting of 10 (W1), 12 (W2), 14 (W3), and 16 (W4) days after sowing. The result exhibited that combination of substrate composition and transplanting time was not significantly affect the plant growth and yield. The best substrate composition was the mixture of 1000 cm3 soil and 2000 cm3 reamun (1:2) (M1). However, the transplanting time on 10 days after sowing was the best treatment.
