Abstract
Severe preeclampsia is syndrome in pregnancy consists of decreased organ perfusion due to vasospasm and endothelial dysfunction. Severe preeclampsia classified into two subtypes based on the time when the symptoms appeared, which are early onset (gestation < 34 weeks) and late onset (gestation ≥ 34 weeks). Previous studies have found differences of maternal and perinatal outcomes. This research intends to find out maternal and perinatal outcomes in severe preeclampsia classified by onset at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang. This research is an observational descriptive study with cross-sectional study design. This research uses secondary data from medical record of severe preeclampsia patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang who met the inclusion criteria. From 253 samples found 48 cases (18.97%) early onset severe preeclampsia and 205 cases (81.03%) late onset severe preeclampsia. Maternal outcomes in early onset severe preeclampsia are 6 HELLP syndrome (12.5%), 9 eclampsia (18.8%), 6 acute kidney injury (12.5%) while in late onset are 4 HELLP syndrome (2%), 6 eclampsia (2.9%), 3 acute kidney injury (1.5%). Maternal mortality and intracerebral hemorrhage were not found in both onset. Perinatal outcomes in early onset severe preeclampsia are 4 perinatal death (8,3%), 38 low birth weight (79,2%), 14 asphyxia neonatorum (29,2%) while in late onset are 4 perinatal death (2%), 14 low birth weight (6,8%), 3 asphyxia neonatorum (1,5%).
