Abstract

The phenomenon of the problem at the Social Home Rehabilitation of Beggars Bums People with Mental Disorders, found that there are 80 (50.31%) social isolation clients who experience impaired social interaction abilities and activity of daily living (ADL) and there are no scheduled activities or therapies at the orphanage this. This research is a Quasi Experiment research with a Non-Equivalent Control Group design with Pre and Post Test. The sample in this study amounted to 36 clients which were divided into 18 for the control group and 18 for the intervention group obtained by the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection using observation sheets and social interaction questionnaires from Nyumirah that have been tested for validity and reliability and daily living activities using Barthel Indexs and bivariate data analysis using paired t-test data analysts, Wilcoxon test and Mann Whtiney test. The results found that there were no significant differences in the ability of social interaction in the intervention group and the control group with p value (0.055)> 0.05 (α). And the results of the study found that there were significant differences in the ability of Activity Daily Living in the intervention group and the control group with a p value of 0.013 <0.05 (α). The research recommendation is that this Social Group Activity Therapy can be applied to clients in the PG ODGJ PSR so that patients can perform social interactions and fulfill their daily living activities properly.
