Abstract
This research was aimed to redesign the horticultural garden in Jakabaring Sport City Palembang to improve functional facilities for education, recreation, socialization while remanaging for a better plant layout. The research was carried out using observation and survey method to obtain both primary and secondary data. Primary data shows that the area of the study site is 10.428m², there are 55 types of plants, and some facilities are available at the location, while secondary data were collected based on literature study. All data then were analyzed to design a horticultural garden with the educational, recreational, social, esthetical. The horticultural garden design was created in form of 2D and 3D images and also provided with video made the using the following applications: Realtime Landscaping Architect v 6 0 2 ., SAS Planet, Google Earth, and Windows Movie Maker. Design of Horticulture Park Jakabaring Palembang, which uses a geometry pattern consisting uses of horticultural plants which consist of vegetable, fruit, medicinal, and ornamental as its constituent components with several hard components as supporting facilities. The design assessment conducted through discussions with the land site owner of research place and questionnaires for 15 respondents. The scoring system was 1: poor, 2: fair, 3: Average, 4: good, 5: excellent. Results showed that the horticultural garden design had nearly reached excellent score.
