Abstract

This research aims to describe the knowledge of secondary school teachers about mathematical modeling. Subjects in this study are secondary school teachers in Palembang. This research using questionnaire as the data collection technique. Based on the result, it was found that teachers have the correct knowledge of the process of mathematical modeling, teachers know that the situation of mathematical modeling comes from the real world and the mathematical modeling situation may produce different mathematical models, but teachers do not know that the process of mathematical modeling is not only produce an exact answer but can also produce approximate or non-exact answers.
