Abstract

The LRT construction in Palembang has 13 stations connected from the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II airport station and ends at the DJKA station, aiming to support community mobility in carrying out daily activities. However, the LRT construction still has problems such as lack of integration with other public transportation modes and the surrounding area so that the people of Palembang prefer to use private vehicles. Therefore, the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) is needed by utilizing the development of mixed areas which have a high level of density and mutual integration as well as providing easy access for pedestrians so that people are comfortable transiting and encouraging people to use public transportation. From the analysis of the supply area, the Garuda Dempo LRT station area consists of commercial areas, offices, schools, settlements, hospitals, and city parks. From the analysis of the characteristics of the trip, it was found that most of the visitors coming to the Garuda Dempo LRT station area were 58.5%, the occupation of visitors was dominated by civil servants, entrepreneurs, students or private employees, in reaching the Garuda Dempo LRT station area. using motor transportation which is 54%. Data of inward travel activity from the east of the station area is 0.88% and data of inward travel from the west of the station area are 4.41% of the total city travel in Palembang. Data travel activity out of the east of the station area is 1.15% and data travel activity out of the west of the station area is 1.49% of the total city travel in Palembang. The results of this study are transit oriented development (TOD) planning types of school, office and commercial areas with developments such as the provision of pedestrian paths, namely skywalks, the provision of open spaces and supporting facilities such as parks and rides, sports buildings and food courts, as well as land use changes. settlement becomes an apartment.
