Abstract
Vegetation structure and composition analysis in tailing depositional area of PT. Freeport Indonesia (PT-FI) can be used to describe plant biodiversity, abundance and spesies dominance. The information could be reference to take policy about tailing deposition area management. This study was aimed at collecting vegetation in Double Levee area (Old West Levee and New West Levee) of tailing depositional area in Mod-ADA. The Plot line method was used to sample the vegetation that covered from seedling and cover plant, sapling, pole and tree. Vegetation profile diagram got from a plot with size 20 x 60 m. The results show that vegetation composition in Old West Levee comprised 5 spesies of trees, 8 spesies of poles, 24 spesies of saplings and 51 spesies of seedlings. While in New West Levee comprised 3 spesies of trees, 3 spesies of poles, 13 spesies of saplings and 38 spesies of seedlings. The vegetation profile diagram of Old West Levee comprised 11 spesies, while Old West Levee comprised 6 spesies. Casuarina equisetifolia L. dominating the two research area. Reclamation area could be providing compatible area for growth medium of other spesies.
