Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the growth and development of UPJA in the study area to achieve its optimal goals by comparing the conditions of the business services that were sourced from the regulations of the minister of agriculture. The research has been conducted in Banyuasin District, South Sumatra Province. This research has been carried out in September to October 2019. The variabels observed in this study were the availability of the number of equipment, the rental price of machineries, operational performance of the Agricultural Equipment Service Business, UPJA system development problems, UPJA system development strategies. The results of this study were the management of UPJA in the tidal region of Banyuasin District, South Sumatra Province, which needed to be improved further to be able to achieve its optimal goals based on comparison of Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 25 of 2008, the existence of UPJA plays a role in overcoming the needed of agricultural machinery to cultivate land and harvest processes, UPJA in the study area was still classified as a beginner because technical and economic management has not been maximized, farmers' income was based on the calculation of the cost of rice production of Rp. 12,950,000 / ha planting season, and BCR combine harvester and 2-wheeled tractors of 3.97 and 3.06 businesses were considered profitable.
