Abstract

Background: Obesity is a risk of hypertension. Cold pressor test is a test that can be used for a indicator of someone will be having hypertension in the future. This research aims to find out the differences in blood pressure response to cold pressor test in obese and non-obese medical students at the medical faculty of sriwijaya university. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental research. The sample of this study is preclinical students of medical faculty of sriwijaya university who do not have cold allergic and do not have cardiovascular issues. Subject (N= 48) do the cold pressor test. Result: There is significant difference blood pressure response in obese and non-obese students (p= 0,003;p=0,019). Conclusion: Result of cold pressor test on obese students is higher than non-obese students.
