Abstract

In the medical world the syringe is the most commonly used tool that contributes a very large percentage in medical waste. The syringe is included in medical waste that can not be considered trivial in its situation. Very many syringes are used and must be discarded, given that syringes are disposable objects. The limitations of syringe disposal efficiently and energy saving, it should be thought of tools capable of destroying the syringe efficiently and energy saving. The method used to destroy the syringe is the method of heating. Utilization of transformer as current power plant can produce heat. Self-heating method has some advantages because it does not harm. From the test results of syringe smelting with a variation of syringe 0.5 cc/mL, 1 cc/mL, 3 cc/mL, 5 cc/mL, 10 cc/mL, 20 cc/mL, 50 cc/mL, it is known that the voltage produced when the sequential melting according to the syringe variation is, 1.41 V, 1,287 V, 1,714 V, 1,984 V, 2,224 V, 2,177 V, 2,039 V. Current generated in order according to syringe variation i.e. 1.4 A, 2.05 A, 1.85 A, 1.89 A, 1.88 A, 1.55 A, 1.31 A. The current temperature of the smelting increases over time as the melting is caused by increasing diameter melted syringe.
