Abstract

Abstract The conversion of agricultural land to coal mining was thought to cause a number of negative impacts on the surrounding community, such as the area of agricultural land that was reduced, rubber productivity decreases. The purpose of this study were 1) Analyzing the impact of conversion of agricultural land into coal mining on the allocation of farmer working time, and 2) Analyzing the impact of the conversion of agricultural land into coal mining on farm household income. This research was conducted in Merapi Village West Merapi Subdistrict. Location selection was done purposively by considering that the farmers in that village did agricultural land conversion into coal mining. Data collected was carried out in October 2019. The sampling method used was simple random sampling with a sample of 30 respondents. The data used included primary and secondary data. This research analysis used were mathematic and statistic to analyzed the impact of agricultural land conversion into coal mining on the labor time allocation and income. The results of this study are 1) The allocation of farmer working time doesn’t differ before and after of agricultural land conversion into coal mining. The labor time allocation after land conversion has decreased, evidenced by the results of the total calculation of 733 HOK/Year and 648 HOK/Year, and 2) The income of farmers has a significant difference before and after of agricultural land conversion into coal mining. The income of farmers after land conversion has decreased, evidenced by the results of the total calculation of Rp. 97.545.615 and Rp. 57.372.237.
